Seeking Young Prodigies for SGM's New Talents Recognition Award
The SGM New Talent Award, organised by SGM Germany, a provider of professional lighting technology, is a prestigious event that aims to find the most creative and best young talents in event lighting design. The deadline for entries is fast approaching, with submissions closing on October 31st.
To participate, lighting designers must submit a 3 to 5 minute visualization or video, an equipment list, and a short curriculum vitae. The competition is open for registration at https://sgm-new-talents-award.de/.
A four-person jury will select the winners, with members including Jerry Appelt, who has designed light shows for the Eurovision Song Contest and the PRG LEA stage at Prolight + Sound, Michael Herweg, Managing Partner of SGM Deutschland, Michael Biwer, Division Manager / Group Show Director at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH and Director of Prolight + Sound, and Tom Becker, Publisher of DieReferenz.de.
The winners of the award will be announced by November 8th, and the finals will take place in the SGM showroom during the SGM OPEN DAYS from SGM Germany on the 23rd. The prizes for the winners include a 13'' MacBook Air, a "Symphony" license for CAPTURE's visualization software, and SGM Dry-Hire jetons.
The success of a production, as everyone knows, depends not just on performance and sound, but also on the right light. This award provides a platform for young lighting designers to showcase their skills and innovations in the field. Participants will present a specially programmed show for the same song, demonstrating their technical prowess and creativity.
The SGM New Talent Award is an excellent opportunity for emerging talent to gain recognition, professional lighting equipment, and opportunities for mentorship or industry exposure. With the deadline fast approaching, it's time for young lighting designers to step up and shine!
