"Stadtadeln Makes Its Debut in Bremen for the First Time"

The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is set to participate in the communal cycling campaign "Stadtradeln" for the first time, from September 2nd to the 22nd. This initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable cycling mobility, is part of Bremen's efforts to join the large community of participating municipalities and contribute to the Climate Alliance.

Registration for the event is required at [www.Stadtradeln.de/bremen]. Participants can record their cycling kilometers using the Stadtradeln app or the website, [www.stadtradeln.de]. Whether you're a frequent cyclist or new to cycling as a primary mode of transport, everyone is welcome to join.

Bremen residents can form teams and compete or cooperate with each other. The city, known for its bike-friendly infrastructure, is the most bike-friendly large city in Germany, according to surveys by the ADFC. Internationally, Bremen also doesn't have to shy away from the comparison in terms of bike-friendliness.

Every kilometer counted, whether daily, occasionally, only on weekends, or even in the rain, contributes to the city ranking. Cycling is of great importance for the local traffic mix and is essential for achieving the ambitious Bremen climate goals. People outside of Bremen can also participate and contribute their cycled kilometers to the Wesermetropole.

The event is coordinated jointly by the Mobility Department and the Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen GmbH. Main prizes will be raffled among the most active participants, not the teams with the most kilometers. Other goodies like Bike it! T-shirts and Finn smartphone holders will be raffled among all participants.

The cyclist with the most kilometers and Bremen's first Stadtradeln winning team of 2024 will be determined. The deadline for tracking kilometers in the Stadtradeln campaign is September 29th, 2024, for kilometers cycled from September 2nd to the 22nd.

By participating in Stadtradeln, Bremen is not only promoting cycling but also strengthening its position as a city committed to sustainability and the environment. Join the movement and pedal your way towards a greener Bremen!
