Surveyfindings reveal that in-laws are generally correct in their gift-giving choices

According to a survey conducted by Kleinanzeigen, practical gifts and personalized gifts are the most satisfying types of Christmas presents for Germans. The online survey, which was carried out between November 20 and 22, 2021, included 2,119 participants aged 18 and over.

On the flip side, impersonal or generic gifts such as socks, ties, or gift cards are the least satisfying, with many recipients finding them less thoughtful or exciting. Books, decorative items, care or cosmetic products, and sweets, food, or delicacies also made the list of least satisfying gifts, with 17%, 18%, 22%, and 27% of recipients expressing dissatisfaction respectively.

The survey results were weighted and are representative of the German population aged 18 and over with regard to gender, age, and region. Interestingly, only 10% of dissatisfied respondents cited a too high or low monetary value as the reason for their disappointment.

When it comes to gift-giving, friends and parents or partners performed the worst, with 18% and 16% of recipients respectively expressing dissatisfaction. On the other hand, grandparents had a relatively good touch with gift selection, with only 9% expressing dissatisfaction.

Overall, 40% of respondents were dissatisfied with at least one gift they received last year. However, no new overall dissatisfaction percentage was provided in this paragraph.

It's worth noting that no new reasons for dissatisfaction or new types of gifts causing dissatisfaction were mentioned in this survey. The survey results were not repeated in this paragraph.
