International Children's Day Celebrations in Tbilisi

Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, will commemorate International Children's Day on June 1 with a series of events across various districts and a major gathering in Dedaena Park.

In a government meeting, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze expressed his enthusiasm for the occasion, stating, "June 1 is a day we cherish, imbued with special affection." He underscored the eagerness of many children to participate in the celebrations.

The central event, commencing at 3 p.m. in Dedaena Park, will offer a plethora of activities for children and families. The program encompasses a children's concert at 8 p.m., an open-air library, film corner, chess zone, exhibitions by local art schools, sports activities, and workshops in felting, calligraphy, and applied arts.

Beyond these, the celebrations will feature an artisan fair, puppet theater, storytime corner, and art therapy sessions. The artisan fair will offer a vibrant marketplace atmosphere, while the puppet theater and storytime corner are designed to stimulate literacy and imagination in children. Art therapy sessions will provide a creative outlet for self-expression and emotional well-being.

Mayor Kaladze assured that all events are free of charge, encouraging families to attend and enjoy the day with their children and grandchildren. The prospect of an exciting, diverse experience awaits, catering to a wide range of interests and developmental needs.

Beyond the core activities already mentioned, additional attractions include a wide array of local artisans showcasing and selling handcrafted products, interactive puppet theater performances, designated spaces for storytelling, and creative workshops aimed at fostering emotional well-being through various art forms. These events aim to offer a multifaceted approach to entertainment and learning for children attending the celebrations in Tbilisi.

The International Children's Day Celebrations in Tbilisi will also include a focus on family dynamics, as workshops in felting, calligraphy, and applied arts are designed to engage both children and adults in creating shared memories and strengthening relationships. Moreover, the home-and-garden sector is applied through the open-air library and artisan fair, providing an opportunity for families to peruse books and handcrafted goods, fostering a nurturing lifestyle that encourages intellectual growth and appreciation for local artistry.
