The Siberian "Peace Square" in Krasnoyarsk, dubbed the Hermitage, has been named Museum of the Year.

Ploshchad' Mir Museum Center in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, has been named "Museum of the Year" by Cosmoscow 2025! This prestigious title will enrich the museum's collection with works from contemporary Russian artists.

Minister of Culture for the region, Arkadiy Zinov, shared this news:

"Cosmoscow is a Russian foundation promoting contemporary art and an annual art fair in Moscow since 2015. Receiving the title 'Museum of the Year' means that the foundation will purchase pieces from modern Russian artists, which will then be donated to Ploshchad' Mir's collection. Additionally, the museum center will have the opportunity to showcase a stand at the Cosmocow 2025 fair in Moscow this fall."

In the past, other institutions like the Multimedia Art Museum, the State Hermitage Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art PERMM, and the Arsenal have also been awarded this title.

As a reminder, Ploshchad' Mir Museum Center is the largest in Siberia and a showcase for contemporary art. Its exhibition space covers 5,000 square meters. The current name, "Ploshchad' Mir," was adopted in 2015. Prior to this, the cultural landmark was known as the Lenin Museum, KIC (Cultural and Historical Center), and the Museum on Sredka.
