Top-selling title from Prolit Publisher's catalog
In the world of independent publishing, Prolit Publishing Distribution is a beacon of collaboration, representing 170 small to medium-sized publishing houses from various genres. With over 41,000 available titles, they offer a diverse range of books that consistently top their indie bestseller list.
The list has seen a series of changes in 2025, with "Woman as a Human Being" by Ulli Lust returning to the top spot in June. TikTok stars Gialu & Gazelle came in second with "Never Not Changing" in February, while a non-fiction comic about the role of women in the Stone Age held the third position.
In August, Susanne Straßer's board book took the top spot, and Prolit's indie bestseller list showed the high demand for 2025 calendars, with "The Little Caterpillar That Could" back on top. The autobiography of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni entered at number 3 in May.
A non-book, "The Game," led Prolit's September indie bestseller list, and "Good Morning Germanistan!" by Henryk M. Broder and Reinhard Mohr joined the list as newcomers in March. A prize-winning, cautionary graphic novel made a strong start in May, and a newcomer offered a delicious preview of a seaside holiday on the April list.
The list has also featured board games, with "Qwixx" moving from 7th place to the top in July, and "Qwixx - The Original" game topping the list in February. Angela Merkel's biography by Klaus-Rüdiger Mai still holds the top spot on Prolit's Advent indie bestseller list.
Prolit's indie bestseller list includes titles from publishers such as Wagenbach, Gerstenberg, Matthes & Seitz Berlin, and others. They are a medium-sized service provider, owned by its managing directors.
Francesca Melandri's "Cold Feet" topped Prolit's indie bestseller list in October 2024, with Italy as the guest of honor at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Five children's and young adult books appeared in Prolit's first indie bestseller list of 2025.
