Upon trying the AirPods Pro 3, it immediately became clear that I'd be forsaking the AirPods Pro 2.

The wait is over, as Apple has officially launched the new AirPods Pro 3, boasting a range of improvements over its predecessor. The latest edition of the popular earbuds is now available for purchase, starting September 19.

One of the most notable changes is the improved comfort and fit, making them a worthwhile investment for existing AirPods Pro users. The new design features eartips that push deeper into the ear canal, creating a better seal, and a smaller portion that sits in the concha. This results in a more intimate fit, with increased skin-to-plastic contact around the main body of the buds, providing greater comfort during extended use.

However, during longer conversations, users may find themselves needing to reposition the AirPods Pro 3 more frequently than the previous design. This is due to the repositioned eartip and stem, which have been adjusted to line up with the mouth, potentially improving voice pickup.

The new AirPods Pro 3 also come with four additional ear tip sizes, including an XXS size, ensuring a perfect fit for all users. The ear tips themselves have more structure, with a construction of "foam-infused microspheres," providing a secure and comfortable fit, especially during physical activities like running.

The improved fit also contributes to the AirPods Pro 3's longer battery life, which is another welcome addition. Furthermore, the new earbuds offer better sound quality and improved active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to the previous model.

Apple's new AirPods Pro 3 are not just about comfort and sound quality, though. They also offer enhanced connectivity, understanding and being understood in 15 languages. The charging case for the new AirPods Pro 3 is slightly larger than the previous cases due to the new shape, but it ensures the earbuds are well-protected when not in use.

In summary, the AirPods Pro 3 represent a significant step forward in audio technology, offering improved comfort, sound quality, and functionality. Whether you're a current AirPods Pro user or looking to upgrade, the AirPods Pro 3 are definitely worth considering.
