Weekend festival returns to Ludwigstraße: "Zamanand Summer Village" takes place in Munich
This weekend, Munich's city centre will transform into a sustainable oasis as the "Zamanand Summer Village" festival takes place on July 26 and 27. Over 100 stands with information and interactive offerings will be available, providing an opportunity for visitors to engage with NGOs in the fields of sustainability, social issues, and culture.
The festival will be held on Ludwigstraße, with the area closed to motorized traffic during the event. Bus lines 100, 153, 154, N40, N41, and N45 will be rerouted to accommodate the festivities.
The Zamanand Summer Village will feature six stages, each offering a unique programme. The Zamanand Stage at Odeonsplatz will showcase a variety of music styles, including performances by the Munich Urdu rock band Panchi and the Paul Daly Band with Irish Folk. The M94.5 Radio Stage will feature emerging bands, while the Nutrition Days Show Stage will focus on cooking shows and panel discussions.
The World Dance Stage will offer dance performances with audience participation encouraged, and the Living Room Stage will provide a relaxed atmosphere with mellow music. The Electronic Unity Stage at Wittelsbacherplatz will feature popular electronic DJs for dancing.
The festival aims to blend entertainment with social awareness through its eclectic schedule of music, dance, and workshops. Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to explore the diverse food options available.
In addition to the music and entertainment, the festival will also host the "Car-Free Mobility Lab" with numerous partner organizations. The festival area has been reduced to about 2/3 for this year's summer edition.
