Supportive Success: Jana & Giovanni - A 20-Year Union of Teamwork and Sustainability
Group Consisting of Members for Two Decades - We've repeatedly proven our cohesion over a period of two decades as a united group.
Twenty years of marriage, two teens, hectic schedules - yet Jana (48) and Giovanni Zarrella (47)'s bond remains unbreakable. "We're each other's biggest cheerleaders; there's no competition, just reinforcement," Jana grins during a shoot for Eon at Essen's Testing Lab.
Although their lives are far from placid, intricately arranged family calendars keep them organized, with deliberately reserved personal days. "Family always takes priority. We may sleep less, but we'll catch up later," Jana assures.
Upcoming Anniversary Plans and Balancing the Public & Personal
This August, the couple will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, but details are yet to be decided. Their spontaneous nature is well-known; as Jana laughs, "For now, we live in the moment. But we'll manage." They maintain a clear line between private and professional life, keeping their children off-limits on social media while remaining down-to-earth with followers.
Grocery stores and bakeries welcome them like old friends, Giovanni frequently chatting with bakers, singing a tune, and engaging in friendly banter.
Sustainable Energy-Saving Duo: Zarrella Style
Jana and Giovanni are not only a supportive couple but also a well-tuned team when it comes to saving energy. "He watches our smart tariffs, ensuring I can flexibly charge my electric car at the most cost-effective hours. I'm in charge of turning off appliances," Jana explains during the energy transition video. The kids even join in, reminding used lights to be switch off.
Brazil-born Jana carries sustainability as part of her daily life. Replacing a hybrid with a fully electric car was the first step, followed by solar panel installation. "Our neighbors' solar panels inspired us. I compiled information while walking, and now I can charge my car at home thanks to solar power," she shares.
Understanding her car’s charging behavior brings a sense of accomplishment: "I thought my charging box was broken at first; now I know it's charging at night when electricity demand is lower, helping the environment and my wallet."
Giovanni, a true penny-pincher, adores these money-saving measures. "We always turn off devices if they're not in use. There are so many ways to save energy these days, and each little action contributes to a significant impact by the end of the year," Jana states.
