Experience the magic of winter in Düsseldorf as the city transforms into a winter wonderland with the return of the popular DEG Winterwelt. This year, the event runs from November 13th to January 16th, 2022, providing a festive atmosphere for all to enjoy.

The ice skating rink, approximately 1700 square meters in size, is the centrepiece of the event. Four lanes are set up for ice stock shooting, adding an exciting twist to traditional ice skating. For those who need skates, sizes are available for rent.

The rink opens at 11 am, and the DEG Winterwelt operates from 11 am to 9 pm on Mondays to Thursdays, extending to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 pm on Sundays. It's recommended to check the official Düsseldorf city or DEG Winterwelt event websites or social media pages closer to the event date for any updates on the seasonal schedule, activities, and food options.

The Alm terrace, a popular meeting point around the ice skating rink, offers seating for up to 500 people, including 108 seats. The new terrace, built for this season, offers hearty dishes like sandwiches, goulash in a bread bowl, hot soups, cakes for coffee, and mulled wine called 'Glühkirsch'.

For a more immersive experience, visit the Christmas huts scattered around the event. Here, you can indulge in various culinary delights such as roasted almonds, dumplings, and potato pancakes.

School classes often make use of the ice skating rink for physical education classes in the mornings, adding a touch of local charm to the event. For those looking for entertainment, DJ Dubbelmann plays at the after-work event from 6 to 10 pm on Wednesdays to Saturdays.

A new, COVID-compliant terrace has been built at the end of the ice skating rink for this season, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. The rink is illuminated by 5000 lights in the evening, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.
