Wildlife Exploration Event in Autumn

Get ready for an exciting adventure into the heart of nature as the Essex Wildlife Trust announces an upcoming Autumn Wildlife Exploration Event at Sayers Breck.

The exact date for the event is yet to be confirmed, but nature enthusiasts can expect a morning filled with captivating activities such as guided wildlife walks, mushroom-spotting, and even the opportunity to peer into the hidden world beneath pond surfaces through microscopes.

The event will take place at Sayers Breck, accessible via the What3Words address: pencils.reckons.complies. The site is equipped with facilities for people using mobility aids, including a wheelchair-accessible cafe and shop. However, full access around the trails may not be guaranteed after poor weather.

For those who enjoy the company of their four-legged friends, dogs are allowed on the path leading to and around Sayers Breck, specifically the area near Sayers Breck Pond.

Creativity will also be encouraged with leafy crafts, and for the more adventurous, a sand pit for digging up finds awaits. An opportunity to sit in a tractor and hear the hum of its engine is also part of the event.

Hearing loop facilities are available, and there is an accessible toilet at the front of the Centre. Unfortunately, bicycle parking information and detailed parking instructions are not yet provided.

To secure your spot at this exciting event and for more specific details, such as booking instructions, dog policy, what to bring, and contact information, it is best to directly contact the Uttlesford Local Group of Essex Wildlife Trust or check their official website or local notices.

Tony Morton, the contact person for volunteer events in nearby reserves, can also be reached at [email protected] for more precise event details.

So, mark your calendars and prepare for a memorable day immersed in the beauty of autumn wildlife at Sayers Breck. Don't forget to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for a comfortable exploration of the reserve. Call ahead if you have specific needs or wish to book on a guided walk.

We look forward to seeing you there!
