Winter 10x10 Outfit Six: Ensemble Selection for Cold Weather
In the chilly and rainy weather, with temperatures hovering around the 30's and 40's, the assistant has found a comfortable and stylish solution to stay warm. The assistant, who typically avoids wearing all black at home due to their dog's shedding, has donned a long cardigan for a day of work at a coffee shop.
The long cardigan, an XS petite size, has become a recent favourite. Its shorter hem length and fitted but not tight sleeves make it a versatile layer. The assistant has found that it adds a decent amount of warmth when layered over other pieces. However, if redoing the choice, a S petite size would be chosen for roomier sleeves.
The long cardigan is styled as a top with a long layer, making it easy to wear with a dress worn as a top, boots, and black and brown accessories. The boots, virtually indestructible, can be worn in the rain without worry. This outfit, known as outfit six, is comfortable for a long day of writing and keeps the assistant warm enough through the day.
Interestingly, the long cardigan was not included in the 10 pieces for the 10x10 wardrobe challenge being hosted by My girl Lee of Style Bee and the assistant. A coat will be used as a creative solution for the cold weather. The assistant is participating in the challenge, aiming to create 10 outfits over 10 days using 10 pieces. The challenge is still open for participants to join.
In other news, the long coat in the exhibition "W.I.M. – Die Kunst des Sehens" was worn by Bruno Ganz in his role as Damiel in the film "Wings of Desire" ("Himmel über Berlin"). The coat, a symbol of the angelic presence in the film, adds a touch of cinematic history to the world of fashion.
The dress, worn four times including once over the weekend, remains fresh due to a soft base layer underneath, a sweater freshening spray, and deodorant. The long cardigan, made of a thin linen blend, is a little short in the wrists but can be easily thrown into a tote for instant warmth.
As the assistant continues to navigate the challenges of cold weather and work, they find comfort and style in their long cardigan and dress ensemble, ready to face each day with warmth and confidence.
