Wuppertal's Town Hall Turns 125: Sustainability Festival Open to All
The Historical Town Hall Wuppertal and the Junior University Wuppertal are hosting the 'Sustainably Shaping Our Future' festival on May 25, 2025. The event, part of the celebrations for the town hall's 125th anniversary, is open to all and particularly welcomes children, youth, and their parents. It will run from 10 am to 5 pm, featuring an exhibition, an award ceremony, and a lecture, all of which are already fully booked.
The festival will showcase an exhibition with regional companies, institutions, and start-ups focused on sustainability. The Wuppertal Institute will present the 'City of the Future' exhibit, highlighting the transition to resource-efficient and livable cities. The event is organized in cooperation with the Junior University Wuppertal and the Wuppertaler Energie- und Klimaschutzagentur (EWG).
The program includes the award ceremony of the Junior University's project competition, hosted by Julian Janssen, better known as Checker Julian. Following the ceremony, marine biologist, environmental advocate, and cinematographer Robert Marc Lehmann will give a lecture. The festival is a great opportunity for young people and their families to learn about sustainability and its importance.
